Putin warns West over Syria




Putin warned in front of the pillars of his rule that wraps the West, the decision of the Security Council (European)
Russian President Vladimir Putin, the major Western countries from moving outside the framework of the UN Security Council on the Syrian file. This came while the Security Council approved unanimously on a resolution to extend the mission of international observers to Syria thirty days can not be extended.

He said presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Russian President Vladimir Putin warned to circumvent the UN Security Council in relation to the situation in Syria. He added that the President believes that any attempts to work a circumvention of the UN Security Council will be ineffective and will lead to undermine the reputation of this international body.


Extension of the mission
The UN Security Council Friday unanimously adopted a decision to extend for a final period of the Observer Mission in Syria for a month, while pledging to the United States and other Western countries to increase their cooperation with the Syrian opposition after the Russian-Chinese veto, which thwarted Thursday a resolution threatening sanctions Damascus.

However, he pointed out that the decision opens the door for further extension of the conditional assessment of the Secretary-General of the United Nations Ban Ki-moon to the level of violence, as well as it is required of all parties in Syria to ensure the safety of observers.


After the vote
The U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Susan Rice said her country would continue to support the Syrian opposition and strengthen sanctions against the regime of President Bashar al-Assad, adding that the last days are numbered. Also pledged to expand cooperation with the Syrian people to meet their aspirations, and increase humanitarian work in his favor.


Rice has announced Thursday immediately after the Russian-Chinese veto the draft resolution which frustrated the West, that her country will work with partners outside the framework of the Security Council to pressure the Syrian regime.


The White House announced Thursday his objection in turn to extend the mission of observers in the light of the deteriorating situation in Syria, but later agreed to extend the conditional to the task of observers who are working within the framework of Plan International Arab envoy Kofi Annan to resolve the crisis peacefully in Syria.


For his part, said the British ambassador to the United Nations Mark Grant night Friday after the adoption of Resolution 2059, it will be withdrawn if the observers from Syria did not change the situation there during the month that have been agreed upon.


Grant said that the extension of a recent period of observers depends on the evolution of the situation in Syria, stressing his part said his country would continue to cooperate with the Syrian opposition.


Rice's comments (to move outside the framework of the Security Council to address the situation in Syria after the Russian-Chinese veto) criticism of Russia, which warned of the consequences of such a move.
